A native of Texas, Mary Diggs is a Christian, a wife, a mother, and holder of Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Vocal music with emphasis in art from Prairie View A&M University, and taught music, elementary art, and theatre arts in public school for years before retiring.

Personally, and as a teacher, she’s always had the desire to help those who suffered from being bullied. Using her writing, she hopes to reach those suffering from this abuse. Also, her concern as a writer is to encourage young people to learn the value of friendship, love, faith, tolerance and appreciation of cultural diversity. Being school bullied as a child, she knows the painful scares that can deplete self-esteem and give a feeling of hopelessness. She writes, “I don’t pretend to have all the answers, but I think communication and faith are the most important keys.”
